The kirefu are very intelligent and creative creatures, and their stories regarding their everyday lives and their mythical beliefs can be found decorating the walls of the caves in the mountains that surround their home.
The kirefu artists who have painted these images used charcoal and ground pigments from stone. They use certain symbols to convey message. These are explained alongside the actual images below. Enjoy!

The following images represent the discovery of writing and painting. Here, the overexaggerated horns and feathers of this kirefu represent his high status and importance in history. The feather symbols also represent Solayi. The 'double spiral' of the kirefu tails is not an anatomical error, it represents the life forces of Solayi and Vetis, intertwined.

Below are some drawings of the life cycle, as told by the kirefu... Birth... Life... Death. In this last image, Vetis is depicted protecting the dead kirefu. He is shown with his single spiral, which curls in the opposite direction to Solayi's, in kirefu art. The lines extending from the kirefu are depictions of Vetis's strength and power, and are often used alongside his image. Solayi is also depicted in this image, as the larger spiral curling in the opposite direction to Vetis's.

Below are images pertaining to the creation story of Solayi. Solayi's egg and the barren land (the spiral here is the symbol of her life force). The hatching (here the larger spiral represents Solayi herself, and the feathers also serve to depict her).

The following images depict the story of Vetis visually. This image quite graphically portrays Vetis's tyranny and initial crimes. He appears as a living creature, as this was before he was chosen to help Solayi. However, his 'spirit form', depicting his life force, is shown above his head as well. Solayi confronting Vetis This symbol represents the combined forces of Solayi and Vetis, and depicts in this context, his becoming her helper.

More often than not, kirefu artists will portray Solayi and Vetis in their 'spirit forms', previously shown as spirals, lines, and feathers. However, there are existing images of them shown as their actual selves. More of these images are now being painted after the Great Council, when the species were able to see these figures in the flesh.
