Beliefs
Nirions hold a high respect for Vetis, as of course he shares a similar form to them.
They believe that they are guardians of the mountains, and do not take kindly to finding unguided strangers upon the peaks.
All things considered, they are a fairly modest species, and are respectful of their members. As they keep to themselves, there are few laws they uphold, on the whole it is expected that everyone will behave in a proper manner.
Politics
The nirions hold a fairly secure and respected position with the other intelligent species, as they are often required as guides for the others. They tend to get along best with the kirefu however.
As nirions tend to be more reclusive, they can often miss out on news that is happening around the country. For this reason they can be viewed as not caring as much about the state of affairs.

Positions
For a nirion, there are several rankings or positions available. Below is a list in order of value or importance.
Council Representative Like all the other species, the nirions have one member of their kind who is their representative in the annual councils with the representatives of other species. A councillor is chosen by the previous one, and is selected based on their intelligence and ability to speak and communicate the species’ thoughts. The councillor needs to be able to be trusted and is highly respected within the community. Once a nirion councillor is reaching their time, they’ll take their chosen successor under their wing and train them in the ways of diplomacy.
Messenger There are several nirion messengers, chosen on their speed and information-retaining ability, whose task it is to obtain the information from the councillor and spread it to all the nirions in Avelle. They may be sent to groups of other species to deliver news or warnings as well.
Guide It’s a great honour to be chosen as a guide, and one most nirions strive for. Guides act as peaceful helpers to all who access the mountains. They can accompany others on their journeys and offer advice and information about their territory. It’s a guide’s duty to look after those in their care, though they may have to lead them from trouble or from a sacred zone.
Elder Elders are simply those who are old and experienced in life. While some are recluses, there are some who gladly offer a story or some age-old advice. Many elders hold a high degree of influence over the others, and can help choose the next generation of guides or messengers.
Soldier While the nirions, like the other intelligent Avellian species, are sworn to peace, they are not so stupid as to neglect training some soldiers. If a fawn shows great strength in childhood they may be picked to train in combat. This position, however, is looked down upon by many.
