RANKINGS
The structure of feraja society is a monarchy. They are ruled by a King or Queen and their mate, a queen or king (in writing, the capital letter indicates that that ruler inherited their title, while a lower case letter indicates they are royal by marriage), who have absolute power. It is the royal couple who oversees the passing of laws and the making of decisions. While others, of course, may develop ideas or tactics, it is the King or Queen who must okay them. The heir to the throne is not announced based on gender or birth position, but by personal selection by their parents.
A good King or Queen is not without a royal advisor (and especially those who have no idea how to run a kingdom). The advisor’s job is to ensure the ongoing popularity of the monarch, and to advise on how best to tackle a situation. Oftentimes an advisor will act as a scout or spy, able to travel to the vast outreaches of the kingdom without any suspicion in order to pick up on the latest gossip. An advisor must be quick-witted and trustworthy, and is usually selected by the monarch.
Despite the peace laws being passed, the ferajas still train a large army, and so a general is a key figure in the kingdom. It is up to them to oversee the army and to recruit new soldiers. They have the power to promote those in the army as well, and must oversee training.
Other ranks in the army are:
Colonel- answer to the General and are in charge of the captains
Captain- are in charge of the sergeants and often of training
Sergeant- each controls a small group of soldiers
and
Private (soldier)
