Behaviour
Ferajas behave in a manner similar to most felines. They are adept at camouflaging themselves and remain out of sight unless provoked or discovered, which then they will fight a bloody battle with tooth and claw. As a species they are competitive against each other, and seek to prove that each is better than another. They are not opposed to battle, and it's not uncommon to see feraja youth tearing into each other in practice to hone their skills. Many ferajas, particularly elder ones, preach that "silence is golden" and proud beasts of few words.
Expression & mood
A feraja's wings are not used for expressing feeling, and for obvious reasons, neither are their tails. Body language is thus conveyed through facial expression and movement of the body.
A twitch of an ear or a nod of the head is often enough for a feraja to convey a mood or expression to another. It is all very subtle, and to an outsider, a feraja's acknowledgment of their friend's speaking to them may even seem as though they have been ignored.

Habitat
The majority of the ferajas inhabit the kingdom of the Fia Plains, named after the first King who claimed the lands. The tall, dry grasses and cliffs that overhang the coast below allow the species to keep an eye out for intruders and for rule breakers. Those who are exiled from the kingdom usually seek solace around the lake or around the mountains, though these members are few and far between. Ferajas live in a large group, but often smaller pairs or families live separately from the rest of their population. Their homes are not set in stone; often a group will travel and wander the plains. When they want to sleep, they flatten the grasses with their paws and curl in a circle. Some ferajas dare to live on the cliffs, perching on rocky ledges. Mothers will birth and raise their cubs in places where the grass grows to towering lengths; where they can create tunnels through the foliage.
Diet
Ferajas feed on meat. Most often they hunt alone, as their winged stealth attacks work best solo, allowing them to gain running speed or to glide and drop down upon their prey. They take no larger prey than small deer, as they eat on the spot; unable to carry it with them. In the Old Era, ferajas would occasionally catch nirion fawns, and so they are often still treated with distrust.
